Chain for Stihl MS150T?

Is this chain you sell "Stihl narrow kerf .375 lo pro .043 39 drive links"

Product code: 3610 003 0039 suitable for the MS150T? And i assume it'll take the 3.2mm (1/8") files are what i'd use with this saw?

Cheers Chris - no in fact I need to do a chain for Martin (Burrell) as the chain the MS150 takes is a 1/4" pitch .043 chain. (And I'd sent a 1/4" .050 chain).

 

 

Rather clever of Stihl as they then have the only chain that will run on the saw (and also the bar is theirs as well).

 

 

I have just got a reel of it in so will list it shortly (and will post here).

That is a 3/8" pitch chain: 0.375 = 3/8.

 

You need a 1/4" pitch chain (0.250) for the MS 150T

oK all i'm going to say is its the only thing that lets down an other wise fantastic little saw down, IN A BIG WAY , my fingers are not slim, and my eye sight is poor , short sighted, (blind). the only way that I could run that saw would be to throw the chain away at point of needing sharpening. Every time I tried to file it snapped and scratched me pointing finger, sometimes making it bleed

I have had no problems sharpening mine, the chains don't last as long as a heavier chain, but a couple of brushes with the file & guide & the jobs a goodun.

Any chance a MS200 bar and sprocket could be fitted?

 

I know it would take more of a pull than the 1/4" chain, but would make life much more simple.

That's my opinion too, anything heavier would restrict the saw imo, the saw relies on a very narrow kerf, which in turn does give nice finish cuts.

I keep a cheepo pair of glasses in my sharpening box, as at my age I'm long sighted, that & the file guide results in a nice sharp saw.
