is glyphosate effective on bindweed, i am imagining it is but want to check before spraying a large area

The classic answer to this question in gardening circles is to cut the bindweed to the ground, let it regrow (up sticks in a small area), then hit it with glyphosate, either sprayed or wiped on for small amounts.

I doubt you'll ever kill off established bindweed with a single application though.

Spray now then strim in 2-3 weeks then spray any regrowth. Should do a great job at this time of year.

bindweed is in its element this time of year, hit it hard with gylpho,ive always had good results,maybe a second dose if any regrowth occurs

Love bindweed, takes ages to dig out roots. Prefer ground elder though, as is more fun to trace the root system, also looks good for the customer. Ok admit it am a tad sad, but beats working in an office.

come on over .... over an acre of the stuff, bracken too, spent days trying to dig that out by hand.

seems to be endless wind and showers at mo so not very good for spraying:thumbdown:

2,4-D, MCPA, MECOPROP-P, Dicamba and Trichlopr also work, but if you use glyphosate in liquid form, try injecting it into the stem, it will wipe it out much better
