Hi,

 

Can anyone recommend a resin that is clear that can be used to fill cracks and knots and then sanded to a smooth finish please?

You can get it from Axminster power tools.

 

There is also SP systems but I have never used this.

 

There is a thread on here somewhere about this. I think it was posted by Trollspiel? not sure on their spelling. Something about floating balls, honest I am not making it up

I use solar res surfboard resin - cures in UV light or with catalyst.

Goes off very quick in sunlight - 3 to 4 mins so you can build layers easily.

dam, if u sold 1l pots i would probably get some. have a throne/story-telling chair i am carving (beach) that has a fair bit of rotten wood among the sound stuff, would be good to harden up the rubbish stuff.
