So you buy them off Ebay and use them but then some anonomous poster says they are shite and your like oh noes ?

Use you heads FFS.

If they are Central Services, judging from the work I have seen done by him, and the work he sells on Ebay I would climb on his splices. They look professionally done from what I can tell.

I would obvivously conduct a first hand inspection, but If I had to order an Eye to Eye I would try one of those based simply on their appearance, and seeing his/her/their work here on AB before.

If you are worried about it ccontact the seller, ask for references to satisfied customers, experience level spliceing etc etc... if you get answers that make you feel good, then go with it, if not, go with an eye to eye from one of the reputable dealers.

But me Ive checked out the central-services-user_id, they look good to me,I would trust them.

the reason i bought them was because they looked good i researched the cord first then bought them. Then when someone anonymous or not puts a hint of doubt in my mind i have a right to be "oh noes" when my life is hanging on the end of it. i didn't have to get in contact with the supplier he contacted me after seeing the thread and put some very reassuring points across, i have also seen other members of the forum praising his work so problem solved

No-ones saying they're shite, but for peace of mind personally I'd feel safer climbing on something thats certified. After all, like has already been mentioned, whats your life worth?

Anyone is well within their rights to question the safety of a product that has no certification. Or maybe we should all trust everyone, ask no questions, and chance it?

Fair point, but we were all shocked when that happened, as the majority of us trusted petzl to have been thorough. In the same way which we trust our art, teufelberger, dmm etc products.

At least with Petzl there is a sort of fall back (if you'll pardon that) in that they now have to compensate everyone who bought the Zig Zag as well as those who had the accidents.

I think its different when you're buying from a user name on ebay.

À fisherman's loop is à attachment knot for carabiners etc, you can tie it so it à snug fit on the carabiner, when its loaded it is unlikly to come undone but i always put à few locking stiches in the tail then tape them to make them look tidy.

this sounds interesting, could you elaborate for me?

i like the idea of someway tidying off my fishermans tails :thumbup1:

thanks
