Stopped by VOSA

I love vosa.

They do a very unthankful job, a bit like parking meter guys nobody seems to like them.

But with the amount of vehicles I see on the road that I'd really rather not share the road with, I'm glad they're there.

And yes, some of them will be annoying nitpickers, and some will be after a promotion. But in general, they're normal people, just doing their -very important- job.

Hurray for Vosa.

Like most people carrying out a public duty VOSA can't be shown to just stop Artic's etc. So they stop a broad spectrum of Motor Vehicles, looking for the ones that look iffey - broken lights, dirty, overloaded etc, etc.

As Rover said, you will get the Good the Bad and the down right difficult, but most are just doing their job. And with the number of poorly driven Artics on our road, I'm thankful for them.

Just please don't stop me when I'm having a bad day!

VOSA have to get results to ensure their viability and show they are needed, they look for older trucks, dirty trucks, trucks towing trailers, insecure loads etc. If your towing a trailer your more likely to have a fault as you have more items for them to check and therefore it looks good on their monthly reports.

True, and as some one has said about looking like they need a pull, but holders of operator licence`s have a colour coded scale, to likelihood of finding a fault, as well. Their ocrs rating.

The operators score comes up in the vosa car, off your number plate, a red is more likely to be stopped than an amber score, whicle is more likely to be stopped than a green.

Very true and I believe you can find out your colour code, just can't remember how to do it.
