depend what you are selling,we have an ebay business store, mainly selling new stock from bancrupt shops/firms,if we are selling new items we always sell on fixed price, just make it cheaper than everone else and it will sell.but used items usualy go on auctions,as with everything else, ebay is verry quiet at the moment its a buyers site, lots of bargains to be had on auctions,

It is risky starting at 99p but usually pays off. The insertion price for a reserve is really expensive - e.g. about £10 for a £300 reserve. Starting at £300 is much cheaper.

I'd say out of all the options, 99p start is the most fun/ nerve racking!

It's even cheaper to list everything and anything for 99p and get a mate to whack a maximum bid of the least your take.. If they win "cancel transaction" both of you agree to cancel and all listing fees get refunded..

eBay is free.

If you make a habit of that ebays system flags it up and all accounts involved will get a ban for shill bidding

Just a little bit of advice, don't let buyer pay on collection insist they pay before they collect. The last 3 items I've sold the buyers turned up and decided they didn't want them and didn't pay!

It's a legal binding auction.. Unless the description of what you were selling wasn't accurate?

All my stuff was listed with pictures and accurate descriptions I've invited all potential buyers to view and ask any questions all three buyers were Eastern European and all turned up trying to haggle on price and all refused to pay the final auction price I explained to all that they are in breach of there contract and that I would report them to eBay, 1 item was a chainsaw the lad that won the bid turned up 2 hrs later than agreed then offered me a third of the winning bid price for it.
