Any use for mulberry timber other then firewood took a biggish one down this week trunk was split upto around 12ft and had previously been filled with concrete to prevent further spiting so that bits on the bonfire heap the remaining timbers solid and looks like it could be nice for wood turning?

You could ask this gent

Nic Westermann

I'm told he uses small branches for making tool handles. When I offered some via his dad in Surrey recently I was told that he fulfils his wood requirements locally, i.e. from Wales.

Dont know about the timber, but large sections of Mulberry branches can be planted in the ground & they take root. Saves waiting years for seeds to grow to a decent size tree. But it sounds like you may have burnt the branches.

Ye chipped all the branches. Still good to know, thanks.

Mulberry is quite hard to come by - stick some pics up and sizes and you may get some takers.

Thats what I thought, first ive ever taken down. It was 3ft across at the bottom so a fair sized stick for a mulberry. I'll stick some pics up tomorrow when im down the yard.
