Am I using the wrong 2stroke oil?

So I went out to a quick interview today for some subbing work with a local tree service an landed my self several days . Now down to the serious bit, he uses stihl's and stihl oil but as I have a 550xp he said I had best bring my own fuel as stihl oil will kill a husky in no time. Now I am currently using stihl oil but he's got me worried that I'm damaging the saw by not using the husqy xp oil . Can anyone shed some light on this? Don't really fancy killing my saw

I have used stihl oil in huskys and vice versa, no real problems.

I run husky's and have run them on stihl oil for years. It's what fr jones gave me when I first bought my 357. Now my local dealer is stihl. No issues at all. I'm cynical but sounds like they might be being a bit tight.....

That thought crossed my mind too.

 

I'm aways reluctant to use fuel in my saws I've not mixed myself, but that's more down to reducing the risk of using someone else's bad mix, but there shouldn't be any problem with using the stihl oil in a husky.

Erm. So long as its decent oil doesn't make a blind bit of difference.
