The thing is with Worcs Wuss is he never claims to be (or to have been) a commercial climber, in fact he regularly reiterates that. Initially, Like you, Rob Arb I found his posts

puzzling because of that but he actually knows his stuff and his opinions are valid.

What is a bit annoying is when people make veiled references to others without naming them, it's a bit childish. ie. "others not too far away"

Ps David Humphries you looked a bit like Eddie Izzard!

You see, Le Sanglier, because you can't tell the internation within my voice (you only have your own perception of the written word), you are yourself now making assumptions that I am referring to anyone else other than Simon:biggrin:

No veiled references at all, just a simple tete ta tete (sp.) between two fellow professionals on an internet forum.

And just for this once I shall refrain from the over use of smilies:001_tt2:

I work as a subby and seem to have a rhythm of doing 3 months solid climbing (I haven't touched a chipper in 6 months, and not because I'm work shy) followed by a month holiday. Mornings are a bit odd for the first week, but I think that's probably because I'm especially nakerd. After that it's the best job in the world all over again...

Well I don't know who Simon is. Anyway not worth arguing about, (we'll find something later no doubt:001_smile:)

On the subject of emoticons as I believe they're called. When I first started on forums I didn't like their use becuase I thought them to be lazy like saying LOL 'frinstance.

But they are useful at conveying things that are difficult with just writing

like intonations:001_smile: as you say.

Obviously eight smileys one after the other is overkill but I find myself using the more obsure ones more and more.:fight:

Yes mate. I can see it.... I wish I had a quid for everytime I've been told I look like Richard Gere.....I'd be two quid better off :laugh1:

Had a couple of weeks off work recently and dived straight back into a climbing job. My biceps felt like balloon's the day after.

I feel like a nubile young virgin being bickered over by two jocks at the prom....:001_huh:

I like it.....

Thank you sanglier for clarifying how you perceive me, that's about where i try to pitch it

I wouldn't want experienced climbers to assume I'm as good as good as them, 'cos I'm not - I'm terrified of heights for a start! - but I do have some knowledge which, within it's obvious limitations, I try to share, not just for the benefit of the few who have even less experience than I, but also for the purpose of furthering it for my own benefit

Just to make things quite clear, I'm no commercial climber, nor qualified tree surgeon, but I'm better than lots 'white can' type practitioners.....

I've done a decent amount of different types of treework over the last 16 ish years since I started wielding a chainsaw proper, including 6 CS units and assessments.... All on the ground though.....and I continue to do it. The next job is dismantling some oak trees and dead cherries over a holiday caravan park, can't wait :001_tongue:

(I'm Simon by the way :laugh1:)

And Robin.... You can have one of these. :001_tt2:
