Ok so after feathering my old Stihl 028 AV super through the hedgelaying season I'm thinking about getting a new saw, but to fund it I will have to sell all 3 saws to fund it, currently running Husky 350 and 357 xp alongside the Stihl, if I do it I will need one saw that is light enough for hedge laying but grunty enough for cutting firewood timber and also some small to medium felling, usually run 15-18" bars, I know theres no one size fits all but any ideas on what would be the best compromise saw? :thumbup1:

if i was you dont put all your eggs in one basket

but you are doing more maintance and hedge laying by the sound of it so a small rear handle would be idea even one of those husky battries power saws keep one saw as spare ie the 357

I am considering keeping the 357, the 350 was only meant to be a short term saw but has done 5 seasons hedge laying and gone through two clutches and I've had the Stihl since it was new so its nearly 30 yr old

Well, the 028 is a bit long in the tooth but the 350 and 357 are not that heavy so would be pretty good for general purpose saws - if you want a bit lighter then a 346XP or 550XP would do it.
