chipper running costs

Doing an average amount of chipping the quadchip uses about 10ltrs of doosel a day

My quadchip (daihatsu engine) burns about 2.5 litres per hour running flat out and will fill the truck to 6 cube in that hour. 20 litres a week is what I have been averaging.

What do you class as an average amount of chipping? 10 litres a day (3-4 silly full transit loads) is excessive unless on a site clearance. How long you had your quadchip to judge these averages?

Ours is on hire for a few weeks clearing shrub beds. Not chipping much timber but is running for a while. Filling off the tank in the yard is taking 10ltrs per day. I won't have the machine long enough to use it in a wider range of situations. In Arb situations your figures are right. And more realistic. This one has the kubota engine
