A year or so ago I bought a piece of gear off another tree bloke in suffolk.

Anyway, in the comings and goings to the bank and whatever we got chatting and he revealed to me that he did not drink, at all.

Now if a bloke is ill or a wife beater or something well fair enough, but I was amazed that he could not reward himself with some booze after a hard day.

It is one of life's greatest pleasures. (Just don't post on AT when the worse for it!)

Haha. Well I hav'nt drunk for 4ish years and very healthy and dont beat the wife(cause I dont have one) or the girlfriend. Yes after a hard days grafting I do sometimes crave a pint but with an addictive personality I thought i would knock it on the head. Theres less hospital visits, in the gym most mornings at 6, ran 5 marathons in different countries, mountain bike and feel better than I did at 20.

Anyone fancy a pint ?

A few years ago I'd have said Hobbies were something that people who didn't work hard enough did. Pulled my head out of my arse though and realised there's sooo much more to life than working every hour of every day.

Like to get out camping when we can but it's never as much as we'd like.

Quite like making wine and beer (though the beer has always been from kits so is cheating I suppose) and then drinking it too.

Used to really enjoy a bit of rough shooting but just don't seem to get out anything like as much.

Recently got back into motorbikes again - not quite sure how I managed so long without it. Enjoy fixing them about as much as I enjoy riding them.

When it's dark and cold outside on a night I tend to find myself wandering round the internet on Arbtalk or other forums, or looking at stuff I don't need on ebay :blushing:

Warren, I too have an addictive personality.... Four years ago i decided to leave drink alone for a month, I lasted 14 months in the end and during that time I felt healthy, super fit, woke every day with a crystal clear head and treated myself to a new car on the basis that I wasn't spending the money on booze!!! I now treat myself to a cider or two on the weekend and drink in moderation. Having been both tee total and also too far the other way getting lashed (uni days mainly!) I feel I now have the balance about right.

To be honest I dont miss it that much at all. Yes after 2 years I treated myself to a breitling superavenger which turned out to be a good investment as its gone up by a grand and a half in value since then.
