you certainly seem to be getting the jobs in mick, good on you. since you do have good money on the job why dont you do some playing about with some of the kit edd and dean are talking about, if you are thinking on upgrading kit at some time this seems a good job to try it on. organise a demo of a tracked mewp and find a local guy with a hiab. personally both toys are great in the right situation, why not get both in on the same day save your wage bill and give the good lady an easy day.just my 2 sense worth mate.

my advice on buying kit is find a good mechanic first then buy the kit. downtime is the killer. if you have someone local already with a good hiab or cherrypicker that is reliable use them and keep your money in the bank. it means in times like this you arent having sleepless nights worrying about payments on kit. i am glad mine is paid for. but my tractor has a fault and the guy with the laptop to find the fault is in sweden and isnt back till next week.:mad1:but i had a day splitting logs and filling bags with my old man:001_smile:

i put a new brain in it last year now it isnt working 3k worth. still under warranty though. 10ton tractor lying with its throat cut in a cylage pit. this will be a laugh getting it on a low loader.

wow are all you guys estimating to fell or pollard ????I would of gone in at 400 a day and said 2 days....they look piddley too me and pops are easy to work on 2-3 in a day would be easy!...so at £800! damn i must be too cheap
