Nah, that,s peed me off a bit. I want my poppy money to go somewhere more needy than that.

I buy poppies aswell, but i don't get a say who it helps and i aint really bothered either as long as it does help someone. if someone hard working get's help to further themselves in this day and age good on em, theres plenty of ex cons and drop out's that get help of the goverment (out of the tax payer like us) so why not an ex servicman?

i would try and get funding and pay for the rest of your tickets out of your own pocket.

you can get training grants everywhere nowadays, i have cs 30,31,32,33,34,35,38,39,40 and 41, pa1+6, mewps, stump grinder, chipper etc. etc.

and i must've spent less than two grand on all of them. they were mostly funded by the european social fund.

there's no way i'd feel guilty about having them paid for!! i did have to find them and fill out any gods amount of paperwork for them!

I think i'll be paying for the tech cert myself though, can't find any grants for that at the moment.

Your intilted to your opinion Mick.Take it up with the legion mate. They offered it to help me get a better life. No one else gives a monkeys about ex servicmen...thank you for putting your life on the line heres your gong...good bye. No help after your out. Its taken me a year to ask for help from them i kept refusing.

I spent a few grand off my own back with a two year college course and other courses.

the legion are here to help 'all servicmen who need help'.

Well, you learn something new every day. I thought poppy money went to those disabled through serving their country. Cant say I agree with them giving it away for education whether you deserve it or not. Perhaps I'm missing the point here.

Some seem to be destined for an academic lifestyle, doing endless courses and training without ever actually attaining a goal, in order to be kept from the Jobcentres studious glare and made to take some menial job.

poppie money can go towards ex servicmens grand kids, who never served if im right Andy, little johnny could get help if his great grandad was a servicmen.

I used to think it was all injured servicemen ecte, but its not the legion only policy on it..i was surprised by it.

Hope you dont mean im just avoiding the C++p jobs by training?

i know there are job dodgers..im not one.
