Thanks BenR. Is that Calamine rope? If so, how does it compare to Kermaster?

 

You could always get the American standard, very low stretch very much like Cougar Blue perhaps a little more consistent as Donaghys has dropped the ball big time! Availible in 3 colours traditional Poison Ivy, Hi.vee and Calamine.

Not CE approved though like the Poison Ivy we get.

I have American calamine and its really static like my cougar blue, found I could just get a hitch to run smoother on the yale 11.7s than on cougar, much preder it to kernmaster.

Cheers for the vote of confidence U! I have seen a few strange bits of cougar blue. I had on bit where one strand of the cover was all fluffed up.. Weird..

Since they moved there production there has been some odd patches that have come out had one with a twisted strand.

Yea, its pretty simple. I usually just tie 3 half hitches if I dont have a spare biner. Alteratively use less rope, one half hitch to back off and a biner in the bight clipped back to one leg of line..

 

I used this today and yesterday. So easy and quick. Brilliant!

Saves carrying extra gear, less links in the system and means you can crank limbs up a bit and still redirect with only single force Plus you know the limb can support your weight as you have to slack your line out to tie it rather than just dropping through a fork and potentially loading it at a bad angle

Right at the beginning I show I to through a redirect when I don't really want to lanyard into and put my entire weight on the limb I'm redirecting through. This trick has been very usefull.

I take it you still have to thread the length of the tail through the green ring? I get the 6 wrap prussic to cinch to the stem is the not with crab just there as a stopper?

That's it mate you've got it, thread ring through, run rope round stem, pull as much slack through as desired then tie 6 wrap Prussic, then the tail of the multi sling run back through the ring and tie a fisherman's/scaffold knot, then alpine butterfly and bina as a back up.
