Your head is right, traffic control is minimum though.

I'd also like to add that this is not the first time this year that crazy prices are being thrown around. BAD for the trade!!

I'm trying hard to stick to my guns on my pricing which I'm confident is good, in terms of time allocation etc etc.

There's some busy fools out there at the moment, taking risks they shouldn't be.

My gut says this tree is not a climber!!

It will catch them out, sooner or later.

It will indeed catch them out, but at what cost.

The client told me that she "didn't care if it were unsafe, presumably the contractor has insurance and that it was down to him!"

Nice attitude!!!

I've got a wife and daughter that I'd like to continue seeing for a very long time, so it's all about reducing risks! Must be getting old!!

TBH, she doesn't sound like a client you want to have anyway, regardless of whether she accepted your price or not.

So the amount of effort for a professional job is irellevant.

Its just a case of what some google-eyed, safety-oblivious dickpiece has come up with??

I'll punt for £750 + the timber and we'll keep ouor fingers crossed.

Good for you for sticking to your guns - now the weathers warming up those phones will be ringing more and more - don't chase the 'ow much?' jobs concentrate on the good uns, they'll come along.

I'm going for £1200 Wayne, £400/day for a desperate 3 man crew, and a nutty climber who would climb anything.

OR

It's a cheap loss-leader price by some Dids, who will bump it up to £5k as soon as they have cut a few limbs off....
