Felling big stuff

The estate has a 10 tonne forwarding trailer, Mark. Failing that we'll get it trucked to the sawmill.

They have their own mill (the building in the background is the original sawmill), but don't think the guys there have dealt with anything of that DBH yet!

My money is on the plant pot being safe. The tenant is moving out next week.

If its 1 rd in then felling it down the track may create a bigger problem for dealing with it.

Is the Heizo crane fed?

You have seen the job, your original suggestion is likely to be the best.

The estate may have the kit , but if they have not been involved in a large takedown it could be mayhem and frustrating on the ground.

2 climbers, you on the deck co ordinating men and machinery would be a less macho more methodical way

imo.

The estate sound very well equipped and on the ball, hence why they called you.

I've got a few weeks to work it out Stevie. The guys on the estate are good and I've known and worked with them for a while, plus I have two other climbers. There is track access in to the garden to the right of the plant pot so I've got room to breathe.

To be honest I'm more excited about rec-climbing it. It sits well above the Findhorn River and there will be tremendous views north to the Black Isle and west towards Inverness. One to video I think.
