Sacre bleu! thats twice the price, its usually about 27 euros so about £20 but this was offres speciales.

as the crow flies yes....in reality there's an hour's drive from Lochgilphead to Kennacraig, then a 2 hour ferry trip to Islay and if you arrive in Port Askaig instead of Port Ellen you've another 30 mins drive round to the distillery

There's plenty of whisky without peat, there's actually far less of the smoky ones produced compared to non smoky

Haven't long finished a bottle of Dallas dhu...that was really nice! Very drinkable but now I Need another bottle

Glengoyne non peated malt

 

& Old Pultney certainly very low or non at all
