How do you keep yours clean?

I've got a Jensen A540di and it has the usual grill in front if the radiator. Upon removing this the other day I discovered the radiator to be almost completely blocked up with dust. We're now spending hours tediously poking a plastic zip-tie in to push the crap out the other side.

I shouldn't have been so neglectful.

I don't have an airline.

Is that not then blowing hot air from the engine compartment through the radiator?

Hot?????............ How hot do you think it is?????

Warm at best but thats preferable to no air through a blocked rad

Its also way easier to clean a rad from the front rather than the engine side

I wonder why they dont make them like that then?

Have a think sbout it and see if you can decide why they dont make them like that, if you cant figure it out read on

It has been done with a counter veined viscus fan but its expensive. Engines come with a pull van mounted behind the rad becsue most engines travel forward in a vehicle and dont suffer the dust problems.

Its easy and CHEAP for the chippr manufacturer to fit the bog standard unit thats why they dont make them like that

To be honest I think an airline is by far the best way to clean them out, but as mentioned when using any method be careful you dont flatten the fins- its easily done.

Jetwash doesnt work aswell as an airline but probably easier than trying to poke stuff in and less chance of doing any damage if you keep at a fair distance.

good luck.
