Just looked out the window and spotted 3 green woodpeckers (yaffles as they are know here in Dorset!), goldfinches on the feeders, a nuthatch, and a load of big fat wood pidgeons!!

Like a lot of others have mentioned, I get a lot of pleasure eyeing up the birds!!!!!

I have very nice clients, first job twice a week is to fill up peanut feeders, wild bird food, suet squares, fat balls and the pheasant feeders, I you go to a local "farming feed store" you can get a 20kg bag of Poultry Corn Mix for about £8 which goes down well with everyone!

Just got to work a way to get there as were snowed in a bit, it's still snowing, no buses running, looks kind of interesting!

I feed them every morning. I put feed on a shelf in the hen run which is covered in mesh so the squirrels can't get to it. I live in woodlands so loads of interesting stuff about, including woodpeckers which drive me mad until I spot the little buggers!

During a conversation at an National Trust site recently, I mentioned that I like watching the birds, and that tits were a favorite(innocently, honest guv) and was told not be be naughty, they were talking about the feathered kind.

We don't get that many woodies, not sure why, Does anyone know if Blackbirds/ Magpies chase them off?

I'm in the process of making some bird boxes and feeding platforms to stick in the elder from off cuts.
