Skoda Yeti Greenline

I have a Yeti as the wife's main car. Live in The Highlands, she drives to work in the snow everyday for the last month or so.

 

Great cars. I'd trade my Defender for one tomorrow if I could afford to.

I have only one issue with them the boots so small. Considering its meant to be a family car. I have a 08 Octavia vrs and its great in snow(go to scotland every winter) and I think its more practical and cheaper.

have a skoda roomster what a car 1.4 A1 engine done 130k and not missed a beat. cracking cars. they do the scout which is variable 4 wheel drive. but taken my one on places i would think was a 4x4 place just went no prob. does 60 to the gallon. new ones tax is low due to emissions. do not think twice on a skoda cracking cars. shame the pick up is still not available. boot space on roomster is huge with back seats out 2 min job got 5 bales of hay in it. with seats in i used for my job chain saws,strimmer,blower plus all the other bits. and was putting a builders bag full of rubbish in back. can not fault them i bit. forget the old image. better than a VW or audi. and less money

my old man bought 1 in 2010, he loves it! Tho it has been back to the skoda garage many times with small things, interiour lights not working, starter motor, engine jerking every few hours, allow wheels problem, and small rust spots behind rear doors on wheel arch... but we still love it and both agree that its the best car we have ever driven for just everyday stuff, very smooth and relaxed inside. Would he buy another one? Not sure...

I was undecided between an Octavia and the yeti, but Octavia hatchbacks weren't available to order as new model coming out soon. I have ordered a 1.6 Yeti green line in Elegance trim, which means heated leather seats. Toasty... Delivery due in 12-13 weeks though, last new car I had was only about 3 weeks!

The skoda and vw 4motion AWD system is a far cry from the system of a propper 4x4 but the beneift is that most of the time its fwd untill it senses wheel spin so really mpg and tyre wear should be decent. I used to have a 4motion golf and it was an amazing car!! I'd have a yeti 4x4 tdi anyday of the week!! Its a shame they don't make a comercial!!

The caddy comes in 4wd which I imagine is very similar but costs £20k and has a 6 month waiting list for rhd.....

Now that would be a decent little bus!! The vw tdi's put out upto 170hp from the factory now so would tow a medium sized trailer quite happy like a 8x5 ifor tipper.

The only time I ever bought a new car I found this - took the quote to the VW dealer and they (reluctantly) matched the price. If you take out the finance and settle it after 3 months you keep the 3 years free servicing...

I've got one (yeti greenline se) and its ace. 50mpg average over the 1st 50k miles. comfy, well built, light on tyres.
