Suzuki Jimny towing chipper rough ground

As the title suggest I am wondering if any of you fine lot have any experience with towing a chipper with a jimny I own a 150 timberwolf would the jimny cope on rough grass, some mud etc whist towing a 750 machine? Yes, no, struggle etc.

be good to hear from any one a jimny to see what they thought of them overall too

I had an sj, pretty much the same power, I pulled landrovers out of deep mud all the time, as long as your in 4low and you have decent tyres you won't have any problems offroad . There capable little machines!!

I have a jimny with some mud terrains on and I honestly can't see it being much of a problem provided you use low box, I've got several land rovers out of sticky situations with mine, they really do grip like s£$t to a blanket with decent tyres and power to weight they have more hp per tonne than a landrover. Haven't towed a trailer with mine just yet, only saying what I've said based on my own experiences

Sj ,s are very underated in the 4x4 circles until you own one, mine (413) went anywhere including a lot of places souped up lr,s couldnt go

Well I have used mine in some fairly tough situations,they are a very versatile little car,& thats what they are after all.

Mine has upset a good few 4x4s both in its ability to get to them,& then to recover them,but a landy is going to out way & out pull a jimny.

Back on track,it will do it,but you will work it hard if on an every day basis in anything but rough grass,it will not tow a tw150 on muddy & churned up ground for a living.

Superb & bombproof little motors that they are,I should know,we have 5 of them in the family!

They do well on the Landrover trials, good mud tyres and nothing stops them. But I would say weight pulls weight every time. Even a 750kg trailer is going to act as an anchor!

answer to your question yes it will tow a chipper off road!!!!!!!

 

 

i pulled a discovery out with ex-birds jimmny & it only had all terrain tyres on it!!!!!

 

just go sensibly about it!!

 

 

the little suzukis are great off roaders throught the whole range!!!

 

iv had several sj`s 410`s 413`s some with 2litre carlton engines in them one with a peugeot 1.9 diesel (xud engine out of 306)

 

iv had a load of vitras

 

and a jimmny of my own which was modded by a man in keighley who knows a thing or two about suzukis!!!!

 

the other really great off road truck that was highly under rated was the lada niva cussack they went anywhare!!! only prob was they were slightly wider than the little sj`s which gave the suzuki an advantadge in my eyes!!!!!

Wow I never gave the jimmy a thought due to the mk1 Rhino that was a bit of a disaster.

Actually I never looked at suzukis again

I will be looking at them from now on! I need a second motor as well.

 

I had one of the Lada's for tree planting. Now that was a great motor!
