I just got told by my LOLER man that i need to retire my Komet Dragonfly at the next inspection as its 5yrs old. Its still fine IMO but only has 5 yr service life. Thinking of just getting another one as my boss has got through 4 harnesses in the same time (Treemotion, Abies, Austria and now a Harkie) although he has eaten all the pies!!

Anyone recommend a different harness as hard wearing and technical?????

There's nothing wrong with your harness, my Dragonfly is eight years old, just don't tell anyone.

Yeah i should of lied about how old it is, nothing wrong with it at all!!!!

Don't take my word for it really though. You have not seen my harness.

Incidentally,

A farmer told me last week that a climber fell out a tree last week near here because part of his harness came apart.

Paraplegic now. Very bad news indeed.

The Komet Dragonfly is still a good seat harness, and if you want to stay with the seat probably worth getting another one.Its worth looking at some of the leg loop harnesses like the Skylotec ,treecore and vega as they do give a lot more support than leg loops use to.

I remember them being real nut crunchers :what:

Adam

Your right they still can be.You need to make sure you get the right size or theres plenty of adjustment on the harness to make you comfortable.Where ever your going to purchase take your sandwiches and try them all.

Whats your opinion on the treecore then?

I use . a comet butterfly. I prefer leg loops to a seat. but you are better off to get a new harness that you know how it feels. nothing worse than a shiney uncomfortable harness you don't trust.
