Both Mycena pura and rosea are variable but in my experience are quite different to your specimens.

Yep that rules those out , I shall have to have another sit down to night and confuse myself .

The parasitic Bolete, Psuedodboletus parasiticus. Boletes are usually mycorrhizal having mutually beneficial associations with tree roots, but this species parasitizes on the common earth ball, Scleroderma citrinum.

I have an oak to quote for reduction for a local council. 
I noticed these brackets. Look like gannoderma, but what do I know?

strange bluish hue to them.  
any ideas?

Looks like Ganoderma pfeifferi

 

try scratching the surface, if it leaves behind a yellow waxy substance, then that’s the clincher.

Thanks David, 

I am weighing up whether to eschew a reduction and offer only a removal bearing in mind it’s location. 
i’ll research its characteristics after I confirmed what it is. 
ill go back tomorrow.
