Hi Rhoddie Boy - as a suggestion, if you got a spare head band, you can swap them around throughout the day to keep totally comfortable. When one gets wet, you click it out and replace with fresh one. The head band clicks out easily and dries out quickly, so you can have one spare in your pocket and switch them around. The fabric of the head bands can also be detached from the rail and washed.

Only sweat in the helmet is on the forehead band, rest of head stays dry.

Well we've had the two hot days of the year here. About 26 degrees but very humid.

The ventilation is definitely better because I noticed no sweat build up inside the shell and my hair wasn't drenched as before.

Today I've taken the vent cover off, at Treespotters suggestion. It was easy to slide off and reveals six more narrow vents. Got to be a good thing, unless it compromises the safety.

Liking mine. An acre of windthrown scots pine for two days and then an oak dismantle today.

Certainly cooler and like how the headband wicks away the sweat. Quick and easy to fold away the ear defs and they don't get caught up on stuff.

It's all good Wolter. I'm always up the tree so only a bird poo will fall on my head. :laugh1:

Thats exactly what I keep saying JimM! The shell is much bigger than a Petzl or Stein but it measures smaller than them with the ear muffs sticking out the sides. And nothing gets snagged on it.

I know some people don't like how it looks. I couldn't care less how I look, It's all about comfort and function for me.

Just for the record....

Removing the vent is absolutely NOT recommended by Protos.

I'm sure it's not recommended but I just wanted to see what was underneath. I assume it's a safety reason Yve?

To be honest, the attachment slots are so small I'm sure they wouldn't add much to the ventilation.
