In newbury there is a London plane which is massive. We are crown lifting it in the next few weeks. It spreads over 4 gardens. I climbed it the other day. It has a massive spread, the basis easily 5foot across. I must get some photos. Anyone know where the largest plane in the uk is?

Get some pics up when you do it. I think the biggest hardwood in the uk is a plane, down in Devon somewhere I believe

Very interesting reading:thumbup:would be great to find a picture of the oriental plane with a crown spread the size of a football pitch.

I know of one way we could get a picture;)

The tallest plane is in bryanston, blandford Dorset. There is also a huge plane where I live in mere Wiltshire that has a massive spread. I will try and get pictures tomorrow.
