I havent seen on of these for such along time. Does anyone on the site still run one ?? I remeber if you where not carefull you could lose you teeth. Anyone have a funny story about one ??

as for the david guy i worked with spent a long spell in hospital after getting pinned aganst a wall by one and 'punched' till his kidneys ruptured

I've had one for the last 5 years, I junked the honda engine it had an put an 18Hp v twin on it, Its a beast. Bargain for that price, Mine has made its money back time and time again. You just have to be sensible when using it and it will outcut many of the hydrostatic wheelbarrow types.

Superb machines- had one push along Little david and two self propelled Promark- 25hp Kohler would outgrind 1625 Rayco for fun: but dangerous in the wrong hands scared1:

my mate had one of these beasties, he chopped it about so the business end was away from the operater and put a bigger Kohler lump on it. Only he could use it because of the mods he'd made to it (just as well, none of us wanted to get near it!). It lasted him years but his back/shoulders have never been the same since.

the orriginal engine on them was a briggs and stracon

 

used to pop and bang and the primary govounor had a habbit of packing up

 

use ours to grind a load of stumps on southend cliffs after the 87 storm that was hard work

Seen those and never ever wanted to use one, looked a bit too easy to slip and end up underneath it.

I don't mind doing dangerous stuff as long as I die doing it and not get crippled for life.

its no wonder you could loose teeth like, i used a stump grinder for the first time this week and the biggest benifit i see here is the visability of the head. zero vizability with the 1 i used (big yellow 1 cutter at front )
