Ha ha sounds familiar, "come down to the woods with me to sort out the firewood for OUR house. Its exercise and spending quality time together"

We are nearly through one shelter (2mx2mx1m) already and have three and a bit left. The stoves are 8kw and 5kw with the smaller one in use about 75% of the time.

James

HI JAMES nice one mate keep that stove going mate it cold next week jon

Used about 2m3 so far, got a Morso Badger burning every night, and an ABX range stove in the other room which is lit 2 or 3 times a week to dry washing or cook the odd roast dinner. Burning a hardwood mix, Sycamore, Ash, Cherry, Horse Chestnut and Alder. Got another 8 to 10m3 stacked up ready to burn, won't be going cold this winter!

Reckon just over a stacked cube in a 5 kw stove, evenings and weekends only, all hardwood

That makes 3 of us using about the same in similar stoves evenings and weekends. I really must get some insulation stuck on the inside of these walls because I think I'm losing over 2W/m2 per degree C and it will save some chopping.

I have a well insulated house and burnt about 2 cub at a guess, but over he winter I burn tons of the stuff on the stove to keep the place warm so I can sit around in my thong ;)

Im thinking just over a stacked cube in a 4.7kw aga multifuel stove in a well insulated old house. Athough this is the first year its been in & only lit most evenings & weekends

Probably about 1.5 cube so far since September on an 8KW stove in the sitting room. It is only on from 17:00 til midnight. Central heating is run on anthracite but looking at changing to logs throughout for cost comparison. Neighbour complains about hte smell from a wooodstove during the day. Prefers the coal. !!!
