What Christmas tree, real or fake?

It's got to be real! We have the nordman non drop things because my wife insists on getting it the first weekend in December. A fake one seems kind of pointless to me.....

Real one here, Nordman this year as the new house is warmer than the last one and the Norway last year wasn't looking great by Christmas day.

 

Doesn't help that Wife want's to get tree the first weekend in December each year. It's turned into a bit of a day out though now - head off into Helmsley, go round the shops, go pick a tree then head up to the Lion at Blakey for some Dinner.

Seeing as we grow tens of thousands. We usually get a real one! Fraser fir is a firm favourite. Strong citrus smell and not as wide as a nordman so doesn't take up as much room.

Scotch Pine every year same as my Dad used to get.. And always the biggest! Bungy tied an 8 footer to the 90s roof rack last year!

 

Do you baste it in whiskey or something?

I have had a few Sitka over the years but the tops of Norway spruce are excellent as they usually have free decorations already attached!

Real deal all the way, I hate them cheap fake things.

I love Christmas for the look on the kids faces.

Nothing this year (or the last few years). My wife will be working nights over Christmas so it's a non-entity for us really. I've only got 2 days off and apart from that it's business as usual.

 

If we were to get one it would be real - I can't stand fakery and don't see the point. Besides, who would want a lump of oil-derived plastic, made in a polluting factory, in preference to a natural product?

 

When I was young we had a Scots pine in a pot which we used for quite a few years; it just moved outside when it wasn't Christmas. After that a trip to local forestry blocks on a Sunday morning (when everyone was talking to God) usually resulted in a decent spruce.

Fake one here , but for you real one's out there , you get to burn it at the end , good on ya , win win.

Had to help Guernsey put up there big fake light tree this year while hanging from a crane really got me in the festive mode (cold and dead legs) but the crane ride was fun.
