I keep a few stock lines for the worst of these offenders.

I target football fans similarly.

“Well if they will play so wide in the centre, what do they expect?!”

And so on.

 

No idea whether any of it’s true but in probably about ten years of interrupting people wanking on about football like tragically overlooked experts, I’ve never been met with anything but wholehearted agreement.
