Bob, wait till early December. They are bring out the new streamlined 27" iMac. It is a desktop but the screen is awesome.

 

Or you after a MacBook?

And just keep checking back all the time. They give you a years warranty like a new product Then buy a load of ram off Amazon to get it flying:)

I've been using a 22" mac for the last few months and do not like it at all.

Windows 8 is apparently a lot faster than 7 (real people reports, not Microsoft marketing), So I would rather have a same spec as the mac, but 2/3rds of the cost, or same price but much better specs.

I could go into a rant about what grates me about them but don't want to bore you. All I can think as to why people like macs is because they are shiney shiney.
