Man fells neighbour's TPO tree for a better view

You can get some pretty hefty (expensive) trees.

What about one of those 'tree' mobile phone masts? bonus is you get the £10000 a year from vodafone or whoever for the land rental.

The nice thing about this idea is that not only would it destroy the clown's view again but he'd already have paid the £50000 fine for the supposed increased value to his house for the sea view - he would lose this value off his house again, so in theory he'd have shelled out £200,000 by the time you put up the 'tree' mobile phone mast, plus all the while your raking in £10000 a year from vodafone.

If this was a row of Llandii that were allowed to grow to 40ft I'm sure we could all sympathise with the neighbour and hope he would be allowed to get his view back by lowering / removing the trees. As it was a Maritime pine with a TPO everyone is up in arms. I understand the neighbour had lost his view gradually over the years as the pine grew. Would you be happy if you paid a lot of money for a house with a view and your neighbour restricted it? Not saying the guy was right in what he did but there's a lot of detail that the news article have left out.

Being local I know some of the people involved and from what I've heard everyone is happy that the tree has gone - except the council. Also the local council have been so into this case and current TPO planning requests are taking minimum of 14 weeks to process.

Hopefully though it will send out a message that you can't fell protected trees and hope to get away with a punitive fine.
