No. 10mm Beeline fits easily. 10mm Armor Pruss has no chance.

Different ropes have different thicknesses, despite what they apparently measure.

I don't know much more than that because I have not used any others yet.

 

DMc might be able to enlighten you more.

I think the beeline is slightly thinner at 9.5mm

Ive gotta second Tom. That "10mm beeline" aint 10mm...

 

Ive not had a look at a dog bone, but if you taped the tip of the hitchcord tight would it not squish enough to squeeze it through?? If you can get 10mm ocean poly in you might be able to squish 10mm AP down a bit..

Yes that's what I'd imagined also I know of only a couple of cords that are true to there mm's ocean polly being one and amour prus the other it also goes the same for ropes. Ill buy a load of everything and give them a whirl

I ran 10mm AP briefly the other day on a radiata removal. I didn't get a real chance to evaluate it as the HH was my choked Back up whilst on spikes the little check I did weighting etc at ground held me no probs.

 

Like Ben says its tight to get through the dog bone but I found it relatively easily achievable with the following.

 

Using small dia poly cotton I whip and lock the ends tight after milking the slack out of the 10 mm AP cover, the end I thread with gets the whip an 1&1/2" odd up the cord, the core removed from the end almost back to this whip (1&1/4 or so) to create a tapper in the cover, then the end whipped/locked and dipped in an epoxy to harden it creating a inch long tappered hardened starter. With a little wriggling it works for me and I've used it on all the 10mm cords I've played with.

 

If anyone that give the 10mm AP a crack I would be interested in your feedback.

Ill give it a blast tony, I've not found a cord that runs badly on kernmaster yet and I'm sure with your little technique I can follow get it on the HH and let you know how I get on when Ive had a play with it

Seems I didn't try hard enough to get the 10mm AP in the dog bone but the 8mm seems great so far.

I also did two days with I tied as a Knut and that was definitely better than the half VT.

I've always found the Knut so much better than any other hitch it's very responsive and never binds. Looking forward to trying a few hitch cords on the HH

 

Do any of you other use a piece of rubber to stop the crab from turning round when not under load? I had it do that once the other day.

In my case the tending tether has tight eyes around the biner, this and the loop means it acts as a stopper on the spine side.
