I reckon it's about 1cubic metre of wood, ish !!! And we use ratchet straps, cause you can reuse them, tighten them, and they work out easier. We tried the strapping and buckles but they kept falling apart!

Its that time of year where the log splitters are working hard

ive got an old MTD 13 Ton (ill take some pics tomorrow)

looking at getting another

please let me know what your using

Both the cork screw and the hydraulic are road tow able and have their own engines . The yellow one has a Honda 11hp and the red one has a 6.5hp and is 20ton force . I like the fact it is double ended anvil as you can load both ends and split on the return stroke . The cork screw is faster but only good on easy splitting stuff like ash syc and beech . It needs more torque from a larger engine really . The hydraulic is not as fast but I have yet to find anything it wont split .

I like your double splitter, it looks like something from mad max. Is it home made ?

 

i try to make as much of my own kit as possible as alot of the stuff available is not built to what i want and is usually out of my budget

the double splitter is based on an old dumper chassis and is powered by a 20hp honda engine converted to gas
