I'm absolutely incensed !!!!!!!

Hey Mike Stockbridge, lets not get politics mixed up with our duty of care to our Armed Forces, as has been said many times in this post, if shooting a thousand pigs so our medics/docs can practice and perhaps save one brave Marine/Soldier/Sailor/Airman (Or some poor civvy) then bring them hogs on!! And no one has said that the pigs 'lay there and suffer'. In fact they are anaesthetised and in a Veterinarian controlled environment. Reason they use pigs- because anatomically they are very similar to humans. Oh and yeah, I could shoot em, but nothing to do with being 'Hard' or not. WAR IS HELL. Soap box stowed! ;-)

I was about to post this but Commando beat me to it. But for emphasis, here goes anyway:

During training courses, the animals are heavily anaesthetised - both before being shot and throughout exercises - and are attended at all times by veterinary staff.

You're all so hard. I wonder how many of you could actually wound a pig and let it lay there and suffer in the name of a pointless conflict.

We shot a Shoe together didn´t we Mick, and unlike an Animal a Shoe has a Sole.

Hey commando, you can choose whether you go to war or not.

The medics in a war zone dont just treat soldiers! they also treat the younge and the very old these people dont have a choice to be there.

I'd have no problem shooting a pig to advance the knowledge of a combat medic.

I know some pigs that are more intelligent and more sentient than some tree surgeons that I have known:001_smile:

Maybe we should shoot tree surgeons to train combat medics:001_smile:
