Meindl boots are excellent. I've had a pair for about 17 yrs, had them resoled about 6 years ago. I use them for winter mountaineering, hillwalking, deer stalking etc. They are still 100% waterproof and amazingly comfortable. They are a good wide fit which is essential given that my feet are the ridiculously broad flotation variety.

Just googled the altberg factory.... hell of a trek! At the moment i use a pair of muckboot wellies which i really like but are a problem when driving, although they are soft and flexible they restrict my feet and i cant rev the landrover without great effort, which is great for saving fuel but not very practical lol and wellies have no breathability resulting in really sweaty feet after a long day in them.
