Try pumping th primer a few times more than you usually do, set half throttle (not choke) and it should go first or second pull :thumbup1:

Mine gets run dry 9 times out of 10 and once sussed is never a problem.

There is a factory fix for this issue now. Contact ur dealer and they can send u a kit, or take it back for them to sort for you.

The problem was back pressure through the breather causing it to flood and a change to the air gap.

There was also some problems with the starter...this is sorted too...replace with updated starter assy.

I've always found some bigger than bar size timber and rung it up flat out with out letting off for 3-5 mins.

It is stated in the manual to do it like this or was!

It is in the manual, and should be done before using the saw daily, you should also leave them to idle for 2/3 minutes to re set the idle, this is novered in the manual but does work, the later 560 does not need the breather tube blanked off due to a change in the fuel tank, if you open the filler cap and can see the end of the breather pipe it is the old tank, the new breather sits in a air trap in the top of the tank and cant be seen.

You don't need to reset the A/T daily ! I have had my 560 from 2011 and only ever did it once . Just fire it up and get cutting . : Oh and it idles fine whenever I need it to but certainly don't let it idle for 2-3 mins !001_smile:

I couldn't find it in the manual

Thanks for response

No probs mate , enjoy the saw its a beast!

I've only found the need to reset it if I've changed altitude massively or ran it blunt for more than a few minutes.

18" bar, general purpose ground saw. 550 or 560 XP or XP G. I'm thinking the 560 XP G, but if it's really not worth the extra cost, weight etc then perhaps the 550. Or am i just splitting hairs?

I'd take the 560xpg for an 18" bar, although the 550 also is capable of it. :001_smile:

Definately take the heated handles - they are great with wet gloves as well as in cold weather!
