Poisoned trees

If he's no longer farming shouldn't he have a licence for that amount/sort of stuff? :sneaky2:

You don't need a licence to buy glyphosate I don't believe. You can go down and get as much as you want. It's easy enough to keep a chemicals licence up to date anyway or, at a push, just get your farmer mate who's paying you to poison the trees, to buy the stuff. As said before; most of these guys wanting the trees gone seem to be farmers with holiday homes in the area. Topping trees on reserves, cutting them down or poisoning them is par for the course it seems.

As would be poisoning their crops if you played by same rules, you would of thought the being guardians of natural things a mutual respect would be gained. But its more of the conquering empire thing of the 60s up with the hedges etc.

Turned up at work this morning to be told that one of the other supervisors recieved a call from plod at around 07.30 Sunday morning. One of the locals had heard a chainsaw start up at around 06.30 and, after a few minutes of cutting, a massive thump. Plod weren't interested. One person took note of the vehicle but not the make, model, reg number or anything identifying like that. He later admitted he wanted the trees gone anyway. So, one down, right across the footpath, a few more to go.

Anyone think that if someone started a chainsaw up at that time on a sunday morning in a reserve right outside your house, you'd be out like a shot?

Well, we know it was daylight but a quick job. In and out, so quite possibly. They cut almost right through the hinge but left just enough to stop the tree going down hill and through the conductors but yeah, it was someone who had a clue.

Ok, few updates. The poisoner was found guilty at court and, as he couldn't afford to pay for diversion, has to pay $8,000 at $10 per week for the next 15 years. He's 94 now so go figure.

Also, the trees didn't recover, unfortunately so they started coming down today. Because we had to take the case to court we couldn't take the trees down ourselves so we had Treescape come in to price and deal to them. We will be helping out for a couple of them.

Utterly selfish bastard homeowners/typical Court attitude.

I get really annoyed at the vast nos of people who want a house in the Countryside.

Without too much nature.

No weeds.

No rats or vermin.

No view blocking hedges.

No overhanging trees.

No untidy long grass.

Did I mention no rats?

Or nettles (their children might get stung!)

I think the only reason they want to live near nature is to allow them to dump their garden waste over their back fence.

I went so far as to tell one complainent that the local rats probably had sounder pedigrees than most of the local residents.

I was not entirely sure they understood what I was saying .
