Surface an 'iPad replacement'

Oh you do make me laugh, Ive been following Surface for some time, hoping that yes it would present a viable challenge to an iPad.

Unfortunately, not, Surface has struggled to get off the shelves whilst iPads flew. Against it is a somewhat questionable hardware design & Windows 8.0 or 8.1 Windows (U turn edition) now with start button, christ they had to re-invent the obvious.

Im sorry but try as I may Windows is irritating where as Apples OS just works.

This is just to name a few & I for one wont be using Microsoft anything again!

It does work out of the box. My kids ipads have never been plugged into a computer.

Stand corrected! Maybe cuz its newer?

my iphone 4s and ipad 2 all had to be connected to a laptop first.

iPads are great for what they do, saves getting the laptop out and booting it up.

Have to say I have gone off windows, very clunky the best version I have used is windows XP.

I don't even know how to use my ipad properly but I spend more time on it than on the old desk top which is sooooooo slow. I don't need it for documents and stuff like that but I do have to go back to the desktop for dealing with my photos in RAW format. Very tempted to get a mac when I'm in the states but it won't be until 2015. Mind you, if you're gonna do something do it right.

I have always thought of Windows vs Apple as being similar to the Non-stick pan vs a pre-seasoned cast iron pan (Windows being the non-stick pan in this daft analogy).

Both work well straight out of the shop whereas it's all downhill for the non-stick windows, ie they both deteriorate markedly with use.

Btw I use iPad, Android and Windows, but will never buy the latter again.
