The impending husky topper,it is reported to have great power,& we have been waiting ages for it!

Seriously though, what is the target range of saw,ie 50cc-probably the xp saws,120cc,maybe the stihl880.

It has to be top handles. Fast revving engine with the ability to cut fast and be light enough to have up a tree. The 880 is powerfull without a doubt but wouldn't want to carry it around any more than needed.

C'mon guys. No need to guess here. Use science, and get the result:

The chainsaw with the highest power/weight ratio: Stihl MS 660 (0.71 kW/kg).

I've published comparative data on all professional chainsaws (Stihl and Husqvarna currently, but I'll be happy to expand the list) here:

Power/weight ratio of professional chainsaws

Disclaimer:

  1. The data has been obtained from the manufacturer's European websites. Data may vary for US (emissions)
  2. Weight is measured without fuel, bar, chain
  3. Only currently marketed saws are included
  4. I may have misread some data (please let me know, and I'll update)
