mid-life crisis

Hi Folks

hope this is an original thread if not i appologise:blushing: I came into the industry via a unconventional route. I originally taught horticulture and was pro-active in developing new skills, essentially to keep my job. I'm now 45 and feel at a cross roads as far as knowing what direction my specialism should take. has anyone else found themselves in this mid-life crisis :001_rolleyes: where your specialist knowledge is through the roof but your body is begining to relent?? What kind of job opportunities are there for an aging hipster?

regards

Dave:thumbup:

I've got a long term future plan to work too.

First stage is to ensure our company has a credible track record whilst I can still climb well.

Then as I approach 50 I will climb less and concentrate on quotes, grinding, maintenance, training and management, working as a team leader but actively doing ground work.

I am hoping to run 2 teams before long, before sooner perhaps as we are run off our feet currently:thumbup1:

Also, a garden centre is on the cards, all retail.

The future is positive and full of many excellent options:thumbup:

Mid-life crisis?!

I may be having a mid-life crisis switching to tree-surgery recently from bus-driving but I wish I'd done it twenty years ago!

If you're the out-door type love trees/tree climbing, chainsaws and providing a much needed/appreciated service you'll be satisfied doing most anything connected with tree-surgery IMO.

People have said to me that they are 10/10 happy with my work doing what they can't do! Job satisfaction indeed. You only live once - an old saying but so true! Do what you enjoy doing and you're halfway home already.
