im a firm believer in quality not quantity - i supose reguards'is it worth it' depends on circumstances - my woodland/hideaway for chip n timber storage is £400 a year , so if i can shift 400 worth a year and get somewhere to cut n split all my own timber , thats great.

im sure after many years of sundays cutting n splitting timber at my yard at home the neighbours would soon get pissed off.

guy near mine does a builders sack of softwood £50 , yeah , thats cheap , but most of mine is hardwood , but who do you think people will go for ?

doesnt bother me realy , my gas bils are around £20 a 1/4.

There's at least 3 big farming estates within an 8 mile radius of me who over the past 2 or 3 years have gone into logs in a big way, they have their own harvesters, big processors, and men and log delivery trucks flying round the highways and byways.

If they drop their prices then i will stop.ime not breaking my back just to give it away,i will come in the house and put my feet up.
