On one hand, this is a good idea.

A bloke saw us working on a site and came up and introduced himself, said he was after some subbing work and was all insured and ticketed up.

I gave him a trial of a couple of days and now he subs to me fairly regularly.

On the other hand, a few years back, same scenario out on a site, while a bloke was asking the boss for work, I am running down the road after his mates with a couple of saws out the back of the truck, whilst the first bloke was doing the distraction.

Go figure?

My point is that I knew of 2 lads in the nearby town who contacted me re:work, if they are serious about getting it they should explore all avenues, not just sit indoors on the xbox/wii/guitar heroes thingy hoping it will come to them.

I can see the issue of thieving types showing up too, but they will anyway, just have to be vigilant.

And yes, the annoying old fart who used to fell with an axe and crosscut back in the day wil always sniff you out, but you can always learn something from him, if you have a little time.

NO,no, those old guys are great,IMO.

Its the youngsters who "once" took down a tree with their brother who's a gardener and think they know all there is to know
