4X4 Advice??

I have seen 2 or 3 L200s that look great, ive also been looking at the isuzu rodeos too, Although i think they are out of budget, I suppose ill have to get insurance figures and test drive a few in a month or 2 when im gonna buy!

funny thing with cars is when you search on the internet or ask opinions its always the negatives that stand out, people always complain on forum or post about poor reliabilty and major faults on any website.

Yet you never get to hear from all those satisfied drivers!.

had both, didnt like either mate.

Had a jacked up hilux though and it was head and shoulders above both of them.

well im one satisfied navara driver, had 53 plate navara for 4 years, tow a twin axle caravan, use it to transport dogs on my local shoot (quite a lot of off road) quite a lot of room in back for work use and tows a 3 ton mini digger ok, ive maintained it well and it hasnt let me down once.

Just bought a 56 plate new style Ranger for £8100 including vat. Admitedly got a relatively high mileage on it (47000) , but has a full service history and was up for sale by a Ford main dealer. I've been studying form on Autotrader for a couple of months and prices have been plumeting.

 

Thought about a Navara, but was worried about stories with D22 engines exploding. Have owned Land Rovers before but found they needed a lot of tinkering with. L200's seemed a bit heavy on fuel from what I've read.

 

Fancied something I could use as a working vehicle and tow a decent weight, but could have fun with at the weekends.

Hi guys, Ive had the use of a Ford ranger, I think it was 52 plate. It was lethal on roundabouts unladen. many a time it kicked out the tail.

Ive also had one of the new isuzu double cabs and goy 27 to the gallon.

nissan navara 04 reg does 25 to gallon.

Nissan sounds rough and isuzu is more of a car than a work horse.

I always though the mitsubishis were slow and heavy.dont know mpg.

I think the isuzy tows 3ton while the nissan only does 2.7 ton.
