Boat is free. A good friend of mine has a couple of boats he hires out but he never charges me. I think its about £40 a day to hire a boat and engine. A ghillie I have no idea about but probably £60-80 a day. I havnt missed a year fishing the mayfly on Lough Erne in my 25 years of angling. I always kept my own boat up until recently but as I really only used it once a year for the 7-10 days I sold it. Its a great holiday if the weather plays ball but dont expect a lot of fish. 10 for the week would be average but they usually range from 2-4lb.

I caught a cracking grayling weighing just under 2 pound but never managed to get a picture which im gutted about. Here are some pictures

Right guys I just treated myself to a vision cult #2 8ft what a gem of a rod.1372444252766.jpg.f999948a9670e3ef132b2b4addbe497e.jpg

I took it down the local river and had much fun fighting these little brownies:).

I can only imagine how light and handy that rod would be to fish with. It would be no good on my local river though as we catch a lot of salmon when trout fishing even with dry flies. Looks great though!

Went on a hike to loch skeen a few weeks back... Getting properly back in to trout fishing again and loving it.

These two fish came out a small burn and I'm wondering if the bottom one is a salmon? Only took it as it was bleeding the other was put back but shows the difference.

Geoff fancy meeting up

Sometime for a fish I could

Do with some tips. My line keeps hitting the rod on my back cast can get really frustrating.

down to how you are casting need to get some line out when you bring your rod up to just before 1 o clock count to two then cast forward this allows the line to go back out of way and go forward in a straight line also keep your arm straight when casting do not bend your wrist. i am lucky i was taught by tony pawson world fly fishing champion. and now fishing in heven jack seymore what rod are you using what line have you got and how long is your leader they need to match to get the best results.

if any one fancys a days fishing nr winchester give me a pm cracking little lake i know got some nice browns and not expencive. or if you want to can go to avintgon fishieries only a mile from home and good pub serving good food just down road like to get lines wet again:thumbup:

is it expensive to fish the test?

depends what bit mostly syndicite waters but you can get day tickets still on good beats from about £170 a day including two fish.

or what looks good fun is one fly a contest on the test £270 for the day but you get to fish water you may never get near. may have a go next year as in aid of charity
