Leylandi stumps

I am doing a little conny bashing this weekend. There is no necessity to remove the stumps immediately. I plan on cutting them down to ground level for the time being. Obviously these will decay over time (all stumps 10-12" diameter). Our there any accelerates to aid the decay process that can be purchased on the domestic market and our best suited to leylandi?

leave the stumps high and lever then out with a bit of elbow grease if they are small.

 

agree leave em at 5 ft, chop round root ball with an axe and leaver them over.

 

Or grind em out.

Very funny... I will start advising clients that getting the stumps chewed out by ferocious carnivorous hitherto-extinct reptiles is an option.

When you could still get sodium chlorate without flame suppresants you could drill some holes in the top of the stump, fill em up and cover with some plastic.

Come back a month later and light a small fire on top of the stump and a few hours later, stump gone.

Alternative option here.

i had a job with 20 leylandi dismantle and remove, hired a 1.5 tonne mini digger for a day and removed them, bill came in for the digger 120 quid.....just a thought , it just beats waiting for them to rot.
