Hi Nick. Get yourself a copy of: 'Work Your Way Around the World' by Susan Griffith, which can be bought on Ebay for 99pence and its bang up to date with all those useful telephone numbers you'll need. It will tell you everything you need to know about working in many different foreign countries (especially Western one) including tax, visas, jabs etc. It will also tell you about travel to and around those countries. Best of all it will supply you with a range of travellers' tales giving you the benefit of their experience and wisdom, sometimes hard won! Enjoy yourself!:thumbup1:

Good to hear!

Once you get settled in, please take the time to post back (in this thread, or a new one), telling about your experience of your relocation. Accommodation, pay, work conditions, nightlife, ...

This will make it easier for other "would-be expats" to make up their minds.

the problem i have is that i did a aboriculte college course and was going well but as i had a fall out with the company i was working for at the time i ended up leaving them and the college would not let me finish off my course till i found a new employer, i have got all my tickets and 3 years experience just not classed as 'qualified' its a pain in the arse!

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
