Martin, stephen Blair here or (nutter)

If you are going to tell stories, you must remember to include all the facts.

firstly you dont have any tree insurance so you had to work under mine

you were 90 mins late.

you were shown the rot and damage on the tree, this was not a problem to you.

We discussed that once the wait was off the limb, take the head out then there would be room to fell. I left to get the turfer and 88.

You made the decision not to climb the tree, which i respect.

You explained to me that the tree was too dangerous to climb.

inwhich i replied well if you dont do it i am going to do it because i think it is climbable.

We left it at that. we agreed you would pm tonight to arrange payment.

Now today we had a bit of texting that started nice and ended up with you calling me a Meathead. But that was all over payment.

I explained to you before hiring you that i wanted someone who is able to tackle anything, you told me you were very experienced and you were the man.

I think you should stop kidding yourself that you are an amazing experienced climber and just admit the tree was too much for you. But you are better not do something you dont want to, because that is what keeps you alive.

I am off on holiday now, and i am going to do the tree when i come back, If you are right then this may be my final post. I am not discussing the matter here any further. you have my mobile number if you want to discuss it further.

I was out strimming bramble in a wood on a totally calm day when a very large Oak fell straight towards me and the crown landed at my feet.

The tree must have been subjected to wind at some point in the near past.

Haha,

the plot thickens.

I cant believe anyone would make that first post knowing that the other party was an active member here!

Your experience with this guys sounds very similar to a guy I once subbed too. I was expected to climb dangerous trees or work to what I though dangerous schedules almost every time I worked for the guy. He had no experience and could command no respect from me as it was not even as if he was able to say "come down" then do it himself. The only reason I did the work was because I was charging him double my normal day rate.

In the end I told him to stick his work, as I didn't care about the cash anymore, that lack of regard made me sick. The other guys on the forum are right. If you think its dodgy, its your call, don't get pushed into donig anything. Also if he is such a dick can you be sure that all CA and TPO checks have been made?

Guys like that will always find work from private clients, but in a small world such as Arb can get a bad rep with other proffesionals. I would say ster clear as you do not want to be associated with that kind of thing. Sh*t sticks.
