TIMBERWOLF LAUNCHES BRAND NEW MACHINE TO MARKET

SX200

Timberwolf, the UK’s leading chip and shred manufacturer, is delighted to announce the arrival of their brand new product, the SX200 Shredder.

Timberwolf have undertaken extensive research into the shredder market with people who are using the machines and what they want from the product.

With a thorough assessment of the market, independent analysis and customer feedback all investigated, the findings have identified a clear gap and resulted in the creation of the fully homologated SX200 Shredder.

The SX200 is light-weight and manoeuvrable. The existing S426 model has been well received in its target marketplace, however it was felt that a smaller shredder that could be operated by a single user would be beneficial to certain industries – such as local authorities, contractors, estates, tree surgeons and landscapers and the hire market.

Unlike its competitors, the SX200 has a dedicated integral chassis design – as opposed to a ‘bought in’ trailer chassis. It has a 20 HP Honda petrol engine, widely recognised as the most reliable and economic on the market. It is specifically aimed at processing green waste with reduced noise, aided by the forged, sharp profile hammers with Teflon bushes. There is also an option for a conveyor (feed and grab design), which draws material to the feed roller.

Landscapers will be particularly interested in the capabilities of the SX200 – this robust machine with letter box style feed mouth can shred green materials, hedge trimmings, conifer, shrubs, brash and also nursery waste (such as packaging, plastic plant pots/seed trays, etc.) with ease, which means you don’t have to rely on material being clean.

In such environments where having a lesser wood content and the inclusion of dirt and foreign objects is commonplace, (plus the fact that the end product is normally required for compost), the SX200 is the perfect solution as compost forms better and more quickly if the material is shredded rather than chipped.

Other Key Benefits Include:

  • Sub 750kg in weightOptional feed conveyor

  • Fully homologated

  • Feed roller optimally positioned to take material as it reaches letter box style feed mouth

  • Feed roller controls on both sides of feed funnel for additional safety and easier operation

  • Easy access to rotor from the top of the machine

  • Discharge chute rotates through 270 degrees

  • A simple and reliable direct belt drive

  • Waste material from conveyor operation diverted to rotor or rear of machine, rather than dropping onto the floor underneath

  • Optional hammer layout (to allow for different processing and end product requirements)

  • Superior air flow that throws material further

  • No stress system complete with auto-back-off

  • Honda engine with built in hour clock

Timberwolf now have a complete range of machines to suit all budgets. Operating in a competitive environment, Timberwolf realise that purchasers need to see a short-term return on their cost, and the SX200 will be able to fulfil this need.

Jeff Haines, who has been instrumental in developing the machine for Timberwolf, in conjunction with the Research and Development team and Sales and Marketing, said: “The SX200 is easy to use and more tolerant of dirt/foreign material than a chipper, which means it can be utilised, for more jobs with varying levels of operator skills. It has an impressive throughput performance to power ratio, and is excellent at handling green waste."

It also has a much quieter than some of the bigger machines, which means it is suitable to use in urban areas where noise pollution is often a pressing concern for businesses.

The SX200 will be demonstrated at both Saltex (Lister Wilder stand and demonstration village) and APF.

whats the advantages of a shredder against a chipper?

the two are completely different animals imo, shredders will take bramble and shrub clippings, that you'd struggle to feed into a chipper, and a chipper will way out perform a shredder with brash, its horses for courses

The 'chip' quality from a shredder is lower as well, like from a chipper with dull blades.

Awesome machines in the right application though.

We hired one a few years back (not a TW), and fed it fence panels, plastic plant pots and pond weed for three days and it didn't cough.
