Aldi saw

So aldi are getting in on the home owner logs and tree cutting act.

What do people think of this saw then?

I should think that for less than £80 its not going to last very long but , for home owner stuff ? maybe . I don't want one though .

I'm gong to have a look. Might be ok for the rough stuff, timber I won't put a stihl or husky into.

Why not ? Why don't you just spend that doe on cheap chains for ya decent saws to tackle minging wood

stihl saw with an oregon powersharp?

 

The aldi saws are presentable. Father in law had one for firewood which lasted a couple of years but saw no hard work at all. Once bits started to need replacing it was bin fodder as you couldn't get parts anywhere. Being Aldi it does come with a 3 year warranty though so any major problems just take it back

It's a toss up really. Might do might not. Still worth a looksie. Depends on the Build quality of the saw.

 

I've looked into one like it a while back and o brought it, turns out when I stripped it the engine, chain brake, bar tensioner, and carb was almost identical to a stihl 260, the carb was the same exept no name on it. The chain break handle was only bolted to the brake on one side and didn't like that at all as I doubt it would have put up with a stress test.

It was a sad day when the local Aldi closed, now all the plebs go in my shops thank god for home delivery, don't have to mix with them

my mate likes them, as petrol saws have noise and fumes at 8am, so he does'nt upset the nieghbours.......

Looks like a powerful beast, may just sell the 357/346 and go out and buy one:blushing:

 

They will probably be OK for a couple of years logging for the log burner but the build quality will always be suspect against Stihl/Husqvarna and other mainstream manufacturers.
